Sometimes it is enough with one or two days on home territory to regain inspiration and find room to breathe. Stockholm Adventures has taken this on board, and shows the way to the enchanting and tranquil natural beauty that lies within easy reach of Sweden’s capital.

The owner and managing director is Tomas Bergenfeldt who also founded Äventyrsresor AB as long ago as 1984 and of which he was co-owner until 2007. Äventyrsresor introduced the concept of ecotourism in Sweden – it was, for example, the first company to arrange commercial kayaking tours in the archipelago.

With long experience gained from his own travels and from arranging close-to-nature expeditions to all corners of the world, Tomas now wants to show just how much natural beauty is available close to the capital. Walking, canoeing and sailing trips are arranged for small groups or for individuals who prefer to get away by themselves. Great food, comfortable accommodation and a welcoming host are some of the ingredients. Another advantage is that Stockholm Adventures is accessible via public transport – city trains, underground or bus.

In his many years in the adventure and nature tour industry, Tomas has built up a broad contact network, and the employees and guides at Stockholm Adventures have great expertise and long experience. In recent years Tomas has also worked as a consultant in his own company, Ekoäventyr. Not least, he wants to influence politicians and officials in municipalities and county councils to invest more in making the natural surroundings near urban centres more attractive and easily accessible for local inhabitants.

A pioneer in Swedish ecotourism makes a comeback. After over 20 years at Äventyrsresor, Tomas Bergenfeldt is now concentrating on quality-assured nature trips in the Stockholm region. High-quality guides, outdoor culinary experiences, and the genuine archipelago environment are some of the ingredients of the adventure packages. Naturally, all activities are arranged in relation to and accessible by the public transport system in Greater Stockholm.
